Minute by minute, first run

1

Min 0-30: parries before damage

The opening greatsword's sword-press has a 12-frame window — the widest in the game. Spend your first three quests drilling nothing else. Half the "combat feels bad" in the 53% Mixed was written by players who never parried.

2

Min 30-60: quests are an economy

The war table rerolls missions plus mutations every cycle. Read the moon icons: blood moon = always take (+50% loot), moonless night = refuse early on. Full table on the mutations page.

3

Min 60-120: don't sell demon relics

The forge-sister's trust line runs on them. Everyone who sold relics for potions in act one is re-grinding trust in chapter three — the church page documents the detour.

4

Min 120-180: pick your weapon answer

Greatsword parry (safe) / twin-blade debt (sharp) / hammer stagger (crowds) — your hands have already voted by now. Check the answer on the builds page; don't force it.

5

Min 180+: save angel-form for bosses

Crimson rite is a ten-second climax. Don't waste it on packs — align it with boss phase transitions; deleting a phase per rotation is the design intent.

6

Co-op: assign roles before the door

One Aegis, one chainblade. Role-less duos get shared mutation pools plus friendly fire-blocking — harder than solo.

Black-comedy survival. Jump scares exist but each comes with a punchline — scared but laughing is the series formula.
